Bombay is the
inspiration for former Sunday Mid Day columnist Saaz
Aggarwal’s first exhibition of watercolours titled
Bombay Clichés.
Says Aggarwal, “Every day is a new day
but some things never change! Newspaper articles even a
century ago complained of over crowding, heat, water shortage
— and, yes, even traffic congestion! Mumbai, the city to which
for various reasons I feel most connected, is an alluring
symbol of the realities of the universe: constant movement,
predictable patterns, extremes of all kinds, seemingly
precarious but perfectly reliable balance — and continuous
change.”
Bombay Clichés exhibitions are on
from November 6 to 12, 2005 at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery,
Nariman Point, Mumbai and February 20 to March 5, 2006 at Art
Walk, The Oberoi Towers, Nariman Point, Mumbai.
